Seychelles Activities
Relax on Mahe's various beautiful white sand beaches (there are almost 75 beaches on the island of Mahe) while enjoying its vegetation, varying from plantations of coconut palms and cinnamon to forested peaks that afford. Go waterskiing, windsurfing and sailing in Desroches island. Desroches is the largest island of the Amirantes archipelago.
Go deep sea fishing in Denis island. Marlin may be caught from October to December. The minimum stay is three days. The location of Bird island which is located at the edge of the Seychelles continental shelf (the sea floor drops instantly to about 2 km.) also makes it a perfect destination for fishing fans.
The clear water of the Seychelles islands makes it perfect for underwater photography. The coastal waters are a heaven for 110 discovered species of coral and over 930 species of fish.
Try Coral reef diving which is probably the main sporting attraction in the Seychelles. Spearfishing is forbidden and, perhaps because of this, the fish are surprisingly not afraid of people.
A favorite location for snorkeling is the St. Anne National Marine Park which covers six islands off the coast of Mahe.
Horseback Riding - The only places on Mahe island where horse riding is available are Utegangar Riding Centre and Magic Carpet Arab Horse Riding Club in Anse aux Poule Bleue island. La Digue island also offers horse riding facilities at L'Union Estate.
Travel to the well known islands of Praslin, Mahe, La Digue and Cousin for the best experience in bird watching by visiting the homes of all 11 endemic species, some of which are extremely rare. Rarest of wild birds include the Seychelles Magpie Robin and the Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher.
Go fishing. Seychelles have over 1.3 million square kilometers of fishing grounds offering fishes like marlin, giant barracuda, shark and other fish. Whether saltwater fly fishing, blue water fly fishing or deep sea fishing, you will be rewarded with some of the finest fishing in Seychelles.
