Mauritius Nightlife

Mauritius has become a favorite destination for the visitors from all over the world.  Besides the exquisite views to enjoy during the day, various nightclubs, bars and pubs have their doors open that make up the gorgeous night life in Mauritius. The bars which are mostly situated in the open air are mostly visited by people who are relatively older. On the other hand visitors who preferes the discotheques usually are much younger.

Grand Bay, located on northern Mauritius, is the island's liveliest and the most tourist crowded region. Grand Bay is lined with hotels and restaurants and as the night comes, is filled with the vibrancy of the Mauritius’ nightlife. First time visitors, however, shouldn’t expect too much energy from Mauritius' night scene. The Grand Bay region is still pretty much conservative although the younger generation is slowly and consistently making the necessary changes.

Flic-en-Flac, located on the West coast of Mauritius, is the other region that has been improving a great in terms of night-life in the last few years. Flic-en-Flac is somehow more preferable than its rival Grand Bay for being closer to the major residential towns of Mauritius. Several restaurants and late night addresses are found along the coastal road opposite the public beach in Flic-en-Flac.

Every night is party night at the Club Med in La Pointe aux Canonniers. Club Med has a couple of bars and a disco, plus nightly variety show entertainment.
