The city has large and modern shopping malls and trendy neighborhoods, that look like they were developed just for shopping, along with more traditional shops, outlets and outdoor markets.

For visitors that are looking for upscale shops or malls, you should plan your days around the neighborhoods of Polanco (centered around Presidente Masaryk and Campos Eliseos streets), Centro Santa Fe and Zona Rosa. Centro Coyoacan and Perisur, which are both located in the southern part of Mexico City, are also quite popular districts. Centro Historico is Mexico City’s oldest shopping district.  Pino Suarez is also a famous shopping are ain Mexico City targeting young visitors of the city. You will find mostly immitations of famous brands with very affordable prices.

The neighborhood of San Angel, also in the southern part of the city like Centro Coyoacan and Perisur, offers visitors the well known Saturday Bazaar (“Bazar Sabado” in Spanish). In the Saturday Bazaar you will find 3 different market places every Saturday, an outdoor crafts market, an indoor arts market and a separate market selling high end products. A little further away is the Friday market in Toluca, which is famous for its pottery.
