Tijuana
Tijuana is the largest city of the Mexican state of Baja California just 30 km. south of San Diego, US. Tijuana is the westernmost city in Mexico and with over 40 million people crossing the border every year this border is the busiest bordfer crossing in the world. According to the 2005 results, Tijuana metropolitan area was the 6th largest in Mexico, with a population of over 1,4 million people. Tijuana is also one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico. Tijuana forms part of the San Diego-Tijuana Metropolitan Area which has a population of just over 5 million in 2009 making the region the nineteenth largest metropolitan area in the America Continent and the largest binational metropolitan area that is shared between United States and Mexico.Tijuana municipality is divided into administrative boroughs (in Spanish, delegaciones) of which the city of Tijuana occupies 9, which are in turn further divided into colonias. These boroughs offer administrative services such as urban planning, civil registry, inspection, transportation, public works and community development and are served by a Municipal Delegate.
Tijuana has a vastly diverse society consisting of immigrants from all Mexico and the world. Tijuana is home to one of Mexico's largest Asian populations, mostly Chinese immigrants, and to a lesser extent Koreans and Japanese. Tijuana is also home to a large and rapidly growing population of United States citizens, mostly from Southern California, who have moved to the city in order to avoid higher costs of living in the United States while still being able to work in San Diego.

If you are a citizen of Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, South Korea, Cost Rica, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, United States of America, Finland, France, Grate Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, New Zealand, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, San Marino, Singapore, South Africa, Swiss, Sweden, Uruguay or Venezuela, then you can easily enter Mexico without a visa, just presenting your passport and the "Forma Migratoria de Turista, Transmigrante, Visitante persona de negocios o Visitante Consejero" (tourist migratory form). You can find this form at your local travel agency ,airlines or at the airport after you enter Mexico. At the point of entry the immigration agent may ask you for further proof of economic and financial situation, as well as for your return ticket to your home country.If you are not from any of these countries listed above, then unfortunately you must go to the Mexican Consulate Representation in your country and demand a visa for entrance. If you have a family member or a friend or a relative in Mexico, he can realize this procedure at the National Immigration Institute.
If you are from the United states and choose to drive across the border, make sure that you get a Mexican auto insurance before. The insurance is not required by Mexican law, but if you get into an accident and you cannot show proof of Mexican auto insurance, you may be held in jail until situation is clear and damages are paid in full.
