Acapulco Beaches

Acapulco beaches in MexicoThe beaches of Acapulco are among the most known beaches in the world. Some general tips for spending the day at the beach in Mexico are (1) use plenty of sunscreen, (2) the waves are usually dangerous, so be careful swimming or bodysurfing, and (3) always keep an eye on your possessions when at the beach.

Caleta Beach is located in the old part of the city. It’s very suitable for swimming and for families with kids. Icacos Beach is located in front of the La Palapa Hotel. Icacos Beach is suitable for water-sport fans and spring breakers. Parasailing and waverunners are common at the Icacos Beach. Condesa Beach is located in the heart of the Acapulco Bay. Condesa Beach is maybe the most famous beach in Acapulco and thus you have the highest risk of being bothered by local salesman. A part of the Condesa Beach is the Gay Beach. The Gay Beach is located between the Beto Restaurant and the Condesa Hotel. Puerto Marquesis located on the way to the airport and is a 15 minute voyage by bus. The beach has rather calm waves and thus it’s suitable for swimming and relaxing. Revolcadero Beach is located by the Princess Hotel near the airport. It’s much less crowded then the rest of the beaches above. If you’re not staying at the Princess than it’s a fairly long voyage from the city center to arrive to Revolcadero Beach. La Bonfil Beach has the best waves in Acapulco. Swimming is possible but rather dangerous due to the big waves. La Bonfil is located in between Puerto Marques and Revolcadero Beaches. La Bonfil is also quite less crowded like its neighbors. Hornos Beach is at the city center, has calm waves and thus popular among swimming fans and families with kids.
